Sony Online Entertainment has released a number of in-game screenshots from their upcoming MMO game DC Universe Online.

The screenshots look quite nice and promise some serious fun when the game launches. In case you didn’t know, the game will feature extensive customization of characters, enabling users to define some physical properties and superpowers of their characters.

You might also know that you won’t be able to play with the likes of Batman or Superman, which is understandable as you’d have a sea of such characters running around. Instead, you’ll have to work your way up through superhero/supervillain ranks and deserve to fight alongside/versus the top-tier heroes.

There’s no release date yet, but we wouldn’t expect the game too soon as there’s probably more work to be done. Until then, you can view the screenshots here, where you’ll also find some character customization and gameplay trailers to better paint a picture of how the game should feel.
