Stargate MMO developer in serious trouble

As we told you a couple of weeks ago, Stargate MMO developer Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment has been fighting to stay afloat. Employees have now reached 40 days without pay; and according to our sources, not much hope is on the horizon at this point.

Cheyenne was financed by a lot of small investors and according to our sources, the game is still behind schedule; and while the Beta did not go that badly it was still very rough and in need of additional work before release.

Cheyenne, like many start-up companies, is fighting for survival, but the continued silence is not a good sign. The fact that the number of days since employees have been paid has reached 40, particularly during the holiday season, is also not good news. Several sources are indicating that many developers are jumping ship and who could blame them at this point?

We continue to dig in an effort to get more specific details, but the lack of information flowing out of the company at this point seems to suggest that the end might, in fact, be much closer than anyone might have thought.

While there still might be a last ditch effort by someone to pump in enough money to get the product to release and cash in on three long years of work, we think it is less likely by the day. We suspect that an announcement as to the future of Cheyenne will be coming any day now.
