Is all hope lost?

Although Sony's PSP had a great year in Japan, as this was the first time it was supposed to outmuscle its competition, Nintendo’s DSi launch appears to have taken it by surprise. Nintendo DSi’s sales have gone so well since launch that it took this device only a couple of months to come out on top.

PSP now snuggly sits at no.2 with 3,428k units, as opposed to Nintendo’s champ who sold 3,447k, but all is not lost as there’s still a couple of days where we might see tables turn again.

Still, Sony can still be proud of this result, as PSP just had the best year, winner or not, and it promises even more for the future.

More here where you can view some sales charts.
