By now everyone knows that Sony Online Entertainment is working on DC Universe Online; what no one really knows is when it will actually arrive.

It seems, however, that Geoff Johns, a well known writer for the comic, is being quoted as saying that DC Universe Online could arrive as soon as very late 2009 or very early 2010. According to reports, he claims that the overall story is written and in production.

DC Universe Online is slated to be released for both the PlayStation 3 as well as the PC platform, but Sony Online Entertainment to this point has really given no firm indication of a release date or even a release timeframe; they have suggested the project was in development and they are pleased with what they have seen so far of the development.

With another year of development under their belt, who really knows where they development time line of this MMO will find itself? We have to believe that it is far too early to accurately predict how soon we might expect to see this title released. We have to think that while it is possible for early 2010, our sources are suggesting that late 2009 is a pipe dream, at best.
