Titles to merge into The Sims label

The departure of Kathy Vrabeck seems to have had far reaching consequences beyond her departure from Electronic Art’s Casual gaming label. With her departure, EA has announced that the titles that were in the EA Casual Label will be moved over to the same label that is responsible for The Sims.

Vrabeck was president of Activision Publishing prior to her joining EA as President of the Casual label. EA was criticized as being late to the casual games arena, but the company now admits that they have learned a lot about the casual gaming market space and the move to combine the Casual gaming label with The Sims gaming label will be a good thing for the company in the long term.

EA continues to want to strengthen their approach in an effort to have better success in the casual gaming space which has continued to see growth, while other market spaces are not growing as much. It is unknown where Vrabeck is headed, but we suspect that she will surface with another publisher at some point in the future.
