PS3 firmware update 2.40 will be here as of next week when Sony applies finishing touches to their redesigned PlayStation Store. PS3 owners will have to download the update in order to access the service, but the update will bring some nice audio treats.

The update will most certainly please BlueRay lovers – DTS-HD High Resolution Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio will be supported as of next week.

Although Sony Europe and Sony America haven’t yet confirmed the date, a statement from Sony Japan suggests April 15th.
