Crytek claims it is a €600 but misses a display, keyboard, mouse

The quality of graphics in Crysis is well known by now, but it’s also well known that fans are complaining how you need a small fortune to build a beast that won’t choke when running this “hungry” game.

Well, Crytek guys did a little experiment where they invested €600 in order to prove us wrong. A 600 Euro’s worth of equipment and, as they claim, Crysis runs at 1280x720 at high detail settings without a glitch. To prove that, they posted four videos where everything does work without a glitch, and you can find them here.

They claim it’s a €600 machine; however, since we are septic by default, we decided to look the prices up at www.geizhals.at,  as they usually have the best European prices and we listed them in the bracket.

CPU                  Intel Core2Duo E6750  (€ 147.33)
GPU                  GeForce 8800GT 512MB   (€ 213.01)
Motherboard   NVIDIA nForce 650i Socket 775   (€ 91.10)
PSU                  600W ATX12V    (€ 52.90)
RAM                 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit (€ 33.82)
HDD                 SATA 250GB 7200RPM   (€ 48.93)
DVD                 20x DVD±R Burner  (€ 21.99)
Case                 ATX Midi Tower Computer Case  (€ 29.,86)
OS                   Microsoft Windows XP Home with SP2  (€ 57.90)

Well, the total price for the Crysis-machine is actually €696.86 and it's probably due to discounts that Crytek chaps get. Still, it looks like something is missing.

Oh yeah, how do you expect us to play with no monitor, keyboard, mouse or sound?
