Latest BlackBerry a re-hash of 8900

Our friends in the land of RIM tell of a new BlackBerry that has been going under the codename of Atlas. The word is now that the Atlas is, in fact, the BlackBerry 8910; which is a new model for the European and Asian markets that is built from the BlackBerry 8900.

The 8910 is what could be called a variant of the 8900 with an 624MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1 w/EDR, 3.2 megapixel camera, and the new standard optical track pad that has been seen on most new models. The 8910 is said to use a keyboard that is similar to the 8900, and as with the 8900 only offers EDGE support for its connectivity.

While we have not been able to find out a specific launch date, from the whispers we hear it will arrive soon in both European and Asia markets. The 8910 is targeted to be a lower cost and more updated BlackBerry for more price sensitive users in these market spaces.
