To arrive at Sprint November 15th

The second of the new WebOS generation devices from Palm finally has a confirmed release date. Sprint has announced that the new device, which is called the Pixi, will arrive in time for the holidays on November 15th.

The Pixi is the lower-priced or stripped down version of the Pre, which will continue to be Palm’s high-end device for the rest of this year. The Pixi will go for $99.99 with a two-year contract after you subtract all of the instant and mail-in rebates, which total $150. The part that is a bit interesting is that Sprint is offering the Pre for just $50 more when you take into account all of the instant and mail-in rebates that are also being offered on it. It does make us wonder who in the world comes up with the pricing strategies.

Already some are really scratching their heads about the Pixi over the fact that it does not offer built-in Wi-Fi, which many are seeing as a real disadvantage when compared to similar devices in the same price range.

Our sources inside the yellow and black tell us that you can expect good availability for the Pixi on its release date with select retailers such as Best Buy, Radio Shack, and Wal-Mart, as well as Sprint corporate run stores having ample numbers to sell.
