Pre to gets OS updated to 1.0.3

The news that the first major update for the Palm Pre is available must have slipped by us late last week. The fact is that the 13MB update, which takes the webOS to version 1.0.3, is now available for download and installation on your Pre.

According to what we have been able to find out, the 1.0.3 update adds some welcomed enhancements, such as enhanced synchronization support for Google service and Non-SSL Exchange ActiveSync support. A slew of bug fixes have been made, as well, including some tweaks to improve performance.

hat we hear as the big attraction of 1.0.3 is the improved battery life tweaks and improvements that have been made with this version. This alone makes 1.0.3 an important update for Palm Pre users, and at only 13MB it really isn’t that big to download and (from what we hear) it isn’t that hard to install.
