LG's Viewty Smart gets official

Written by test

Otherwise known as the GC900

It seems like the initial leak from LG wasn't quite correct, as the new Viewty will be known as the Viewty Smart rather than the Viewty II. Some other details are different as well, such as the fact that it'll only come with 1.5GB of built in memory rather than 32GB, which is kind of disappointing.

Most of the other specifications seem to be correct, although the official press release is scarce on details. The press release mostly talks about how great the camera is on the Viewty Smart and about all the pre-programmed modes it has that'll make it easier to take the perfect picture, not to leave out the fact that you can zoom (digital zoom of course) by moving your finger in a circle on the screen. None of this stuff is really useful to those interested in actual hardware, but if you're a hardcore mobile phone photografer, then this might be useful details.

The Viewty Smart should arrive in Europe in May and then the rest of the world after that, although no pricing details were revealed.

You can find the press release here
