Samsung announces Mobile Apps Store

Samsung recently announced its plans to open its first online mobile phone app store. The official launch of the online store will take place at the end of the month, and Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The first Samsung’s store of this kind will be for Great Britain, and it’s been announced that the store will be opened with 1100 apps for Samsung’s phones based on S60 and Windows Mobile platforms. Other platforms will also be supported, but at a later date.

Samsung also announced that the store will also feature freeware, which will naturally be distributed free of charge.
