The kind of gadgets coming out in Korea these days even rival the ones in Japan, and the latest MID from Korean UMID is packed to the brim with features and then some. The device doesn't even seem to have a name as yet, but that doesn't stop it from being nothing short of impressive.

The MID will be available with a 1.1GHz Z510 or a 1.33GHz Z520 Atom processor alongside the Poulsbo chipset, although we're not quite sure which model. It will also have 512MB or 1GB of DDR2 533MHz RAM and a 8 to 32GB SSD drive. Other minor features include a mini USB 2.0 port, a microSD card slot and a 1.3Megapixel camera, but none of these features sets it apart.

What makes this tiny machine really special is the fact that it'll feature WiBro/WiMAX or HSDPA connectivity, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth. Then there's the built in DMB-T, DVB-T or 1-seg TV-tuner depending on the market (Korea, most of the world, Japan). Somehow the manufacturer has also managed to squeeze in a 4.8-inch touch screen with a resolution of 1,024x600 pixels, which offers the same resolution as most of the current netbooks, as well as a keyboard, although not quite standard QWERTY layout.

At 315g we wouldn't expect the battery life to be anything spectacular, especially when you consider that it'll come with either Windows XP, Vista or Linux. Despite the fact that you need baby hands to type on it, we still can't help but want one.
