DIS announces 9 MP mobile phone camera

Digital Imaging Systems recently announced a new module for mobile phones called DIS6931. This module is actually a new 9 megapixel CMOS sensor with an ultra fast autofocus (<300ms), advanced system of optical lenses and a mechanical shutter.

Maximum resolution is 3488x2616 pixels and the camera has an option to capture HD video at up to 30fps.

The camera module is already in preproduction, and we expect on the market by the end of this year.
