Samsung announces INNOV8

Smartphone with an 8 megapixel camera

 

Today Samsung announced its new smartphone named INNOV8. The other name for this phone is i8510 and it runs on Symbian platform v9.3.

The phone features an 8 megapixel digital camera with autofocus, image stabilizer and auto panorama mode. The camera can capture QVGA video of up to 120 fps or 30fps VGA video.

Its dimensions are 106.5 x 53.9 x 17.2 mm, but there’s no mention of weight yet.

It comes with a 2,8 inch TFT QVGA display and 240x320 resolution capable of displaying 16 million colors.

Internal memory is 16GB, but there’s a microSD slot for explansion. The phone also features Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi as well as integrated AGPS receiver.

INNOV8 also comes with a media player capable of reading many popular formats, audio and video. Among other formats, this media player reads DivX video.

The phone’s working frequencies are: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps (900/2100), EDGE/GPRS (850/900/1800/1900) and it should hit European shelves in the first weeks of August 2008.
