Asus reveals Eee PC specs

Four models announced

 

Asus has finally announced the list of models for its Eee PC. We are talking about four models ranging from 2GB of solid state disk capacity all the way up to 8GB.

All the models feaure a 7 inch display. The top model, dubbed Eee PC 8G has 8GB of SSD storage, 1GB of DDR2 memory and an integrated web camera. Next in line is the Eee PC 4G which has 4GB of SSD storage and 512MB of DDR2 memory. Both 4G and 8G have a 4 cell 5200mAh battery which should give them about 3.5 hours of battery life in everyday conditions.

The so called "Surf" 4G and 2G models lack the integrated web camera and come with a 4 cell 4400mAh battery that is enough for 2.8 hours of normal work. The Eee PC 4G Surf model has 512MB of DDR2 and 4GB of SSD storage. The value Eee PC 2G, like the name says, has 2GB and comes with 256MB of DDR2 memory.
 
The entire lineup comes with Linux or Windows XP, has an Ethernet port, WLAN, card reader, Hi-Definition audio, Stereo Speakers and microphone. According to Asus this little thing weighs 0.92kg. The pricing of these models should be available soon at Newegg or Bestbuy. Until then Reuters reports that the price should be around $245 but they didn't specify for which model.
