Computex 09: Better than VIA's boards

We were somewhat surprised to see a VIA Nano motherboard at the Albatron booth, especially considering that this motherboards beats every single Nano based motherboard from VIA so far by miles in terms of features and design.

The CPU is clocked at 1.6GHz and Albatron is using the VIA VX800 chipset, but Albatron has come up with a first class way of getting around the poor integrated graphics of the chipset by adding an S3 GPU with dedicated memory onto the board, although Albatron hadn't listed any specifics of which GPU or of how much memory they fitted. The board offers DVI, HDMI and D-sub connectivity and you also get a pair of PS/2 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and 7.1-channel audio thrown in.

Albatron has also added a PCI Express x1 slot for add-on cards and the board has two DDR2 DIMM slots. Sadly there's only two SATA connectors on the board, so this is more of an HTPC board than a home server board. We don't have any details on a release date or pricing of this board.
