Asus claims so

According to an Asus brochoure we picked up at Computex last week, Intel is going to add yet another chipset to its 3-series, the P31.

This is another entry level chipset and it will be paired with the ICH7 series, just like the G31.

The Asus board is called the P5KPL and although Asus listed this as a G31 based board at Computex, it's not.

As you can see from the pictures here this board lacks integrated graphics of any kind.

It features a single x16 PCIe slot, 3 PCI slots and one x1 PCIe slot. The rear I/O consists of two PS/2 ports, a serial and parallel port, coaxial S/PDIF, four USB 2.0 ports, a single Ethernet connector and three audio jacks for 5.1-channel sound.

The board also features four memory slots, SATA and a really badly located IDE and Floppy connector. This should be a really affordable budget option for anyone going down the Core 2 route.
