Computex 07: Gigabyte shows off board

Everyone at the show will have an X38 chipset based motherboard on display and this will be the first Intel chipset to officially support DDR3 – 1333. The other cool thing is that the chipset supports the PCIe 2.0 standard that will provide up to 300W for graphics cards and we kind of need this already.

The Gigabyte GA-X38T-DQ6 is the first board we’ve seen so far and it will start shipping late summer. It will support 45 nanometer CPUs as well as the FSB 1333 models that will launch tomorrow.

The board has copper heatpipe cooling and it supports DDR3 1600 as well. It has two PCIe 2.0 slots, two PCI and three PCIe x1. It has a total of six SATA connectors and dual LAN. The board should launch in Q3, so some time in August or September, but we didn’t get an exact date.
