Intel X25-V SSD to get to 80GB

Intel has
recently introduced its X25-V drive, where V stands for value, and in 2010 it plans to double the storage capacity on the 25-V series.


Thanks to a new 2x nm architecture, Intel will be able to introduce 80GB value drives that probably won’t cost you arm and leg. Intel also plans to continue with X-25 M – Mainstream and X25 E – Enthusiast drives, but these will end up faster and more expensive, compared to Value series.

Mainstream drives will get all the way to 600GB which is a reasonable storage capacity, but they will still cost several times more than any 600GB mechanical drive. SSD should end up faster and this is its main advantage, and let's not forget that SSDs are more durable and shock resistant.
