An overclocked SSD

OCZ has officially announced a new Vertex Turbo SSD, an overclocked version of its previously launched Vertex solid state drive. There is no new hardware involved in development of the Vertex Turbo except for the fact that all chips should be top of the line.

OCZ's new Vertex Turbo uses the same Indilinx controller, has 64MB od DRAM cache and uses SATA 3.0Gbps interface. The 64MB of DRAM cache on Vertex Turbo is overclocked to 180MHz which is a bit higher than 166MHz on the old, normal Vertex. The write and read speeds also got a nice boost and are rated at 270MB/s for read and 210MB/s for write.

Vertex Turbo will be available in 30, 60, 120 and 250GB capacities and comes with a 3 year warranty. You can check out the product page here.
