Computex 08: Very few boards in plans

Most of the Taiwanese motherboard manufacturers are focusing their attention to Intel's platforms rather than on AMD's.

Some will announce an AMD790GX new integrated chipset that will be the fastest IGP ever made, but the manufacturers simply don’t see the necessity for many desktop chipset-based Phenom boards.

The reality is that the best engineers were assigned to the P45 project and they will quickly move them to Nehalem projects, while there are no big plans for new 790FX designs, at least not in the short run.

Once AMD comes back with better and faster CPUs, the cool motherboard designs will follow.
