Intel has confirmed that it will sample its Skulltrail dual socket machines this year, probably in December time and it looks like this FB DIMM powered machine will be the fastest thing around.

We had a chance to see one at default voltage and a phase change cooler that rocks at 4GHz. Today they have an SLI capable system and with FSB 1600 this might be the fastest gaming platform on the planet. It runs two 8800 GTX cards in SLI.

We got a picture of this machine rendering with eight threads in Cinebench test and as this is the best case scenario Intel definitely wanted to show off how faster this machine really is. We don't blame them, Sculltrail is a show off thing so why not show it off.
