Atom is still a hot topic, as you can buy a decent small sub-notebook and carry it around and you don't need to spend that much money.

Everyone who makes notebooks has confirmed that they expect huge shortages of these CPUs and other components related to these small designs, and this will likely last at least to late September.

Once the shortage is over, everyone expects price wars and this will simply bring the prices down.

It looks like the Atom-based system might cost much less than today’s €299 to €399 by Xmas time, and as always, if you are consumer, competition is a great thing.
