Not really a surprise

AMD will again announce a big loss in Q2 2008 but this is not really a surprise. We heard that this time around the loss will get to over 300 million but we cannot confirm this number 100 percent.

AMD CPU sales and average selling prices are to blame for such weak results but no one actually expects AMD will start making any serious money anytime soon.

AMD is planning to get back to profitability this year and firing 10 percent of its stuff might really save some money but they need to get better CPU to really fix things.

The biggest issue today is that AMD’s 2009 roadmap doesn’t look that rosy as we have a strong feeling that Intel will again dominate with little competition in most of next year.

AMD and Nvidia chose a bad year to mess things up as Intel hasn't had a stronger roadmap for the last ten years.
