Dual-core Phenoms are no go at 65nm

Completely cancelled?

We failed to find the proof of existence of dual core Phenom CPUs, codenamed Kuma. This CPU was supposed to launch by late Q2, and as today is the last day of this memorable quarter we strongly believe that there won't be any dual-core Phenom anytime soon.

It looks that dual-core Phenom at 65nm cannot actually clock that high and at the same time, it is very hard to sell its dual-core Phenom marchitecture, as the cheapest of Triple-core sells for €93 in German e-tail.

It would be very tough to sell dual-core Phenom and not destroy the current channel, but more important, AMD couldn’t’ clock them that high to make them worth a while. Athlon dual-core CPUs are holding this position until middle next year when you can expect to see 45nm dual-core-based Phenoms from AMD.

It looks awfully far off, but AMD has slipped and it pays the debts of its CPU arrogance.
