$50 to $230

It looks that AMD has changed its sales strategy and nowadays the company wants to attract business customers. It makes perfect sense, as you sell thousands of platforms to your customers while in retail / e-tail you have to reach each customer on an individual base.

AMD has launched its Business class platform and it has listed the prices of what it calls “Business Class Processors.” The list includes the whole range from single to quad-cores and the most expensive one is Phenom X4 9600B quad-core that sells for $230 a piece. This CPU works at 2.3GHz, has 95W TDP, 2MB total dedicated L2 cache, 2MB L3 cache, 3600MHz HyperTransport bus and fits the socket AM2+.

The second on list is one three-core Phenom X3 8600B that works at 2.3GHz and costs $175. If you are not up for a Phenom you can go for Dual-core Athlon X2 5400B that works at 2.8GHz and dissipates 65W. This CPU will cost you $125. If this is too much for you you can get 2.7GHz clocked Athlon X2 5200B for $110; Athlon X2 5000B at 2.6GHz for $95 and all these Athlon X2’s will be a 65W TDP CPUs.

The last two will dissipate 45W and faster Athlon X2 4450B works at 2.3GHz and costs $85. The last on the list is Athlon single core 1640B that works at 2.7GHz.
