AMD?s DDR3 comes with socket AM3 /G3

K10 is Barcelona
/ Budapest, Shanghai is the K10.5 and after that comes a redesigned core that supports DDR3 memory codenamed Montreal.

I mentioned AM3 socket some year ago but now we have some more details. AM3 will be the desktop version probably coming in very late 2008 or early 2009 while the server socket is known as G3.

AMD will probably push the G3 server version first and than it will follow with the desktop AM3 processors.

AMD’s future in 2008 begins to look a bit brighter.
