Intel spills the beans on Core 2 Duo E6750

Performance NDA lifted

 

Intel has lifted the performance non-disclosure agreement on its Core 2 Duo E6x50-sequence lineup—the Core 2 Duo E6750.

The chip which is a refreshed Conroe-based processor clocks in below the dual-core flagship Core 2 Extreme X6800. Intel claims the chip can manage at 2.66 Ghz which is identical to the E6700.

However the Core 2 Duo E6750 has a faster 1333 MHz front-side bus which matches the new Bearlake chipset. It has the new P35 Express which means that the chip has an identical feature set to the E6700, even down it its 4MB of shared L2 cache.

There will be a launch of the Core 2 Duo E6750 and E6x50-sequence processors over the next month or so.  Sources within Intel indicate that it wants to four Core 2 Duo E6x50-sequence processors with speeds varying from 2.33 GHz to 3.0 GHz including the TXT-less E6540 as soon as possible.
