Organized criminals keen to knock the volunteer-led cybercrime-fighting group CastleCops out of the market are targeting the group's Paypal account.

The criminals are using botnets to send fake financial donations through Paypal using stolen credit cards and paypal accounts.

The idea is that Paypal will get so sick of having to do all the paperwork to sort out the fake donations from the real ones that it will drop CastleCops as a customer leaving the project without funding.

According to the New York Times, CastleCops is working with the FBI and PayPal in a bid to stop the attacks.
