If you are HP

Intel seems so concerned at the slow adoption rate of mid-level and high-end Santa Rosa processors, it has discounted the price to HP.

The special pricing is for CPUs for its newly-introduced Centrino Duo-based Compaq Presario V3500 notebook. It means that HP could offer the laptop at US$1,196 which is much lower than expected.

However HP denied there are any special deals between it and Intel for specially low CPU-prices, although it has not explained the price difference for a similar spec.
