CEBIT 2007: MXM-IV 8800 mobile parts

We found a lot of notebooks marked "Vista ready" but only a few of them had  DirectX 10 hardware inside. A few of such machines have appeared on the Clevo booth. Clevo is a big ODM (Original Design Manufacture) that makes a lot of notebooks for Alienware and Eurocom.

The big 17 inch machine was branded as  MXM-IV Module and "Enthusiast DirectX 10 VGA". It has to be one mobile 8800 part inside.

Perhaps this one that we saw on MSI boot.

M570RU is one of two laptops with DirectX 10 MXM-IV modules inside. Both of them are 17-inch laptops but M570RU has rather modest 1280x800 resolution. It sports Intel Merom Core 2 Duo processor, PM965 chipset and up to 4GB of DDR2/667 memory.

Security is elevated with fingerprint scanner, music comes through built-in 2x speakers with sub-woofer and SRS WOW 3D sound technology and it has Video camera.

The second one is named D900C, and it has 1920x1200 screen and should sports SLI setup and a Conroe CPU. It has a normal P965 chipset, RAIT, TMP, a TV tuner, VGA out and a camera.

Clevo did a good job and we hope to see more from them, probably with Alienware sticker on.
