Computex 08: Thanks to StreamMyGame

During the Intel keynote, Intel showed a demo of Crysis being streamed from a PC onto a Samsung UMPC via WiMAX. Although we're not sure how playable it was, it was still an interesting demo.

This was all done thanks to a piece of software called StreamMyGame and it can stream games from any Windows PC to devices running both Windows and Linux; and the company claims that it will work with all of the latest acronymed cool portable gadets such as UMPCs, MIDs, Eee's or whatever your poison device of choice is.

We're curious how much lag this would cause, as the video and audio is captured in real time on your PC and then sent to the other device via the Internet and we presume any commands then have to be sent back to that same PC. Then there's the small issue of how much bandwidth this would use and what that will end up costing you depending on where you live, but otherwise it's quite cool technology.

StreamMyGames has a Website up and running with loads of information on how it all works and you can find it here. A webcast of Intel's keynote can be found here and you'll see the short demo after the 4-series chipset introduction.
