The first trail of Vista service pack 1 beta
is showing its face, but we expected a bit bigger download than up to 1.1 MB. Well
we are only talking about PDF or XPS document. The fun part is where Microsoft claims that
in July 2007 it was able to install 2.2 million drivers via driver update and a
year earlier there were some 700.000 drivers around.
Vista service pack 1 will bring important things
such as quality improvements that will include all previously released updates
that will fix and address reliability, security and performance. The second
goal is to improve the administration experience including BitLocker Drive
Encryption (BDE)
The last and not the least is support for
emerging standards such as Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) and an Extended File
Allocation Table (exFAT).
