Partners line up for HD 6990 launch

All reference cards
AMD's AIB partners have lined up with their own Radeon HD 6990 cards and all of them are using AMD's reference design. We are still not sure if partners will dare to go non-reference on such a big card.

All cards run at 830MHz for the GPU and come with 4GB of GDDR5 memory (2GB for each GPU) clocked at 5000MHz and paired up with a 2x256-bit memory interface. The dual-slot cooler that has a central fan does a good job at keeping the temperatures of both Cayman GPUs at bay, although it gets a bit noisy at full load. Of course there is that BIOS switch again that takes the card up to 880MHz for the GPU.

Sapphire, Powercolor, Club3D, XFX, HIS, Asus, Gigabyte and MSI are just some partners that have already launched their own HD 6990 card, and most of them have started to show up in Europe with a price tag ranging from €584,86 to the "recommended" price tag of €629. You can find the European prices here. It is interesting to note that Newegg.com still doesn't offer Radeon HD 6990 but we are sure that it will be fixed soon enough.

Here are some pictures of the launched cards.

Hmmmm... Its strangely quiet in beetledom. It stinks, but its quiet. Of course they're "reference cards", because if you overclock them it'll void the warranty! AM-DUNG aleady clocked these cards to the limit and anything more the card will explode! Watch for the price drop!! Where's all this "efficiency", "value"? :D Bwahahahaha!!!!

Go back to playing games on your N64, Flamebait24_7.

With an IQ like yours, used gaming systems are all you could afford from working minimum wage, after wasting most of your paycheck on illicit drugs.

more efficient and more value then you get out of a gtx590.
and you void the warranty if you over clock any card, that's normal.
the same with going over the pci-e power specs.
nvidia will need to do roughly the same thing if they want their card carry the pci-e compatible tag(and they do)

How the hell do you know? The 590 isn't even out and no specs released! The 6990 is a HUGE FAIL!! You haven't been right about a damn thing yet, you're a joke :D In a typical AM-DUNG backstab, $h!t-in-your-face move! They encourage you to do it and then they're own website tells you that you'll violate the warranty if do!! The card is huge, hot, hungry, and loud! Its outperformed if not in 450w mode and not at extreme resolutions. You waited for this $h!t? Wait for Antitties?!! Hell, just buy 2 560's and beat this thing like a drum! :-) Its a turd!!

Hey beetles! How many of you are going to buy this hot turd?!! Who is going to commit suicide and run the 6990 stool stick in CF?!! Can it even be done without destroying your system? How many of you will actually buy this turd?!! Exactly! None of you! :D Wait for Antitties?!! Bah!
