STALKER developer struggling

Written by David Stellmack

GSC Game World might be closed

Ukrainian developer GSC Game World, best known for the STALKER series, is apparently struggling. While details are sketchy, it is rumored that GSC owner Sergei Grigorovich informed staff last Friday that there were plans to close the studio.

Since these rumors have started, news from over the weekend and on Monday now indicate that some sort of an effort is on the way for the studio to continue. While Twitter reports initially denied the entire thing, those have since been replaced with Tweets indicating that the studio was going to do its best to continue, and nothing is certain yet.

GSC, known primarily as a PC developer with its STALKER series, has been working on STALKER 2 (which was initially said to be focused as the company’s first console title); later, however, developers from GSC indicated that the PC version was still the primary focus for the title.

this sucks because they made good games. the games where cheap like 35€ or so for a game. there game was so scary when it was night even whit the night vision. they only focused on the SP instead of the MP. wich made it so fun to play

Even with all the bugs, the STALKER games have always been my favorite games. It would be a shame if the franchise were to fold. Hang in there Sergie.

Hope this wont happen, but if it does i wish Betheseda buys them and they release Stalker 2 on Creation Engine.
Imagine mods then for Stalker :)
