Infinity Ward back pedaling on dedicated servers

Having discussions about the possibility for MW3
Despite previously insisting that dedicated servers were not the direction that Infinity Ward was going with upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, we are hearing that Infinity Ward is doing some serious back pedaling; and at least having discussions about dedicated servers for the PC community, and what it might look like if they were going to do it.

Infinity Ward admits that they are putting a lot more focus on the PC version of MW3 than they have in a long time. While they say it is an effort to build a better experience for PC gamers, we suspect that it also has a lot to do with the upcoming release of Battlefield 3 which was developed for the PC as its primary platform.

While Infinity Ward has not committed to dedicated server support for MW3, we hear whispers from the community that things are heading that direction, and at least it is closer than it was several months ago.

Dedicated servers on the PC platform for countering BF3, that's a clever strategy.... what about starting designing some decent maps where people can't just camp all the time? What about using some pc-based logic and build up open spaces where your enemy is not always in front of you? You know - with keyboard and mouse you can actually turn your head!

Camp in MW? You joking..Theres not enough space where you can properly reload sniper gun,why sniper rifles included in this game at all then? One good game (first MW) and all other MW gone backwards.Seems ActiVISION (LOL) have some business plan - invest as less as possible to get us much as possible. While its working, they not making any progress and other games already surpass them.Soon even spotty teenagers with they shitboxes turn to proper modern shooter - BF3
Meh,MW dont even have dinosaurs xD:

I've learned from MW2 that Even though I loved it, I will not purchase MW3 without dedicated servers.

In the end I don't think they will put dedicated servers. COD in Activision's mind is a console game, it sells the most on those platforms.

Even if they put Dedicated servers in, it will not effect BF3's big influence/fanbase when that time comes.

Having discussions of the "possibility"? So what, isn't that what ALL devs do when they make games? The bottom line is that Infinity Ward knows the PC versions of those games will sell like absolute $h!t on the platform, its an historical fact! I don't care what the game looks like, the PC version will be a pirated, buggy, cheater filled hackfest of a game like it always is! The console versions will be the better versions and will actually "sell"!

Why? PC gamers won't choose Battlefield 3 over MW3, they'll steal both games equally.

There is virtually nothing that Activision can do to get me back at this point. Enough is enough. A ridiculously brief single player experience, average at best multi-player experience, and the last installment runs like crap on the PC because it's a half-baked port from the console.

If they want to pander to console players and ignore the PC, I wish they would just do it and restrict themselves to ripping off people that are used to overpaying for half developed titles.

Awesome. I had just about given up on MP. Got tired of games where there always one or two guys with 85 kills and 3 deaths who head shot killed me 10 times in a row on first shot from 300 yards as I was running, weaving and bunny hopping like hell.
