Creative problem is a suffering

Hi guys, been troubled by a problem, hope you guys can help.
I have a creative X-Fi xtreme music(which is way old i know) i just installed a game the suffering (ties that bind), which has installed starforce on my pc, the prob is now my sound card is disabled for no reason, i uninstalled both the game as well as starforce, now i try to go into creative control panel, it says:-
" The audio device supported by this application is not detected.
The application will exit."
now i went into the device manager, there is no exclamation mark on any devices.
is it a virus or my sound is broken

p.s my os is windows 7 ultimate.
