hey guys just though id ask for your opinion on choosing between coolermasters v8, Thermalright 120 black or Gigabyte G-Power 2 Pro.Gigabyte is the cheapest at around $60 (this is australian $) followed by cm v8 at $90 and the 120 blck at $100 (price has increased since 1366 mod kit has been available) and than i have to buy an additional fan   My E8500 is running at stock with intel cooler and i want to get a modest overclock while keeping in mind that my pc is downloading nearly 24 hours a day. Any Ideas?

TRUE+Noctua Fan or Water Cooling imo.

• WC cause if it's a 24/7 machine you won't have to worry about Acoustics or components dying, WC will be good life support.
• TRUE+Noctua Fan cause it's one of the best and Noctua fans are powerful 'n quiet.

hmm im not too keen on watercooling, the heatsinks these days are considerably cheaper and provide similar performance and theres no maintenance involved which makes them a good choice for myself. I've heard good things about Noctua and ocz vandetta 2 i think. Ill keep looking for more comparisons i guess

Hi,

If you've got a modern CPU, you need a CPU cooler. Gone are the days when PC CPUs could get away with just a little aluminium heat sink stuck on top of them, or no cooler at all. When any Intel or AMD CPU on the shelves today is going full blast, it's pumping out heat - less than 20 watts for current Celerons, less than 30 for current P-IIIs, something around the 40 watt mark for current Durons, and better than 70 watts for top-of-the-line Athlons.
