I spent the majority of my afternoon the other day planning for the plethora of events I will be attending during NVISION 08. It's a 6 and a half hour drive from where I live, so as long as I can make it past Sunday morning L.A. traffic (yep, plenty of traffic on Sundays) I should be good to go if I leave in the early early a.m.

I will be volunteering at the GeForce LAN Tournaments as an IT Technician (BYOC - Bring Your Own Comp, and the GWR - Guiness World Record challenge) for the majority of my day, but my schedule is as follows:

August 24, 2008

* 3:00am - Leave for San Jose
* 10:00am - Arrive at hotel
* 2:00pm - Volunteer Training
* 4:00pm - Visit the Intel Museum

August 25, 2008

* 6:30am - EARLY BIRD RAFFLE (Up for grabs for those in line by 6:30AM: A Desktop PC courtesy of Maingear (value $2000), an ASUS G2 Notebook, GeForce GTX 280 and 260 graphics cards from EVGA, Tagan 1100 W Power Supply and Case, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements Bundle, and much more)

* 8:00am - begin volunteer work at GeForce LAN (7 hours)
* 10:00am - register for Guitar Hero tournament
* 11:00am - find RussianHAXOR and EVGATech_JacobFfrom EVGA.com forums and greet them
* 3:00pm - end volunteer work
* 4:00pm - Workshop: Overclocking & Exotic Cooling with EVGA
* 4:30pm - technical keynote - Game Physics: The Next Frontier (if I have time)
* 7:00pm - Guitar Hero tournament - single elimination round 1
* 8:00pm - Fly Me To The Moon 3D video featuring Buzz Aldrin (live)
* 10:00pm - Case Mod Judging and Finalists
* 11:00pm - GeForce LAN Guiness World Record attempt begins (my neighbor will be participating with my rig )
* 1:30am - walk around, meet people, sleep?

August 26, 2008

* 8:00am - begin volunteer work at GeForce LAN (7 hours)
* 1:00pm - Workshop: Mod Your PC Case
* 1:30pm - Crysis Wars public walk-up tournament
* 3:00pm - end volunteer work
* 3:01pm - developer keynote - Image Processing & Video Algorithms with CUDA
* 5:00pm - technical keynote - Introduction to DirectX 11 Details
* 5:30pm - Crysis: Warhead preview (HD Theater)
* 7:00pm - watch people struggle to stay awake during Guiness World Record Attempt Tongue
* 8:00pm - Test Drive Unreleased Games on the Latest Hardware
* 1:30am - walk around, meet people, sleep?

August 27, 2008


* 8:00am - begin volunteer work at GeForce LAN (7 hours)
* 9:30am - Workshop: How A GPU Works
* 2:30pm - Bring Your Own Comp load out grace period (pack up time)
* 3:00pm - end volunteer work
* 4:00pm - Raffles for GeForce LAN / Volunteers, Club SLi, Guiness World Record participants
* 5:00pm - depart for home
