This is a sensitive matter that applies to us all but just wondering what you guys would do if you were in my situation. I've got a fairly old pc and I'm wondering if I should do a total upgrade at the end of this year or just buy a new graphics card and some ram relatively soon as im only running on a X850XT and only 1 G ocz ddr2 (CL 3-2-2-8).

Why dont you post up your specs?

Its really never worth waiting more than about 2 months for I.T.

i waited two montsh for r600, it turned out to be 9 months, and i only kept the card for 3>4 months before going 3870x2, which is what r600 was supposed to be to start with!.

as i understand it, these new cpu's aren't going to give you a massive boost over the best overclocked today with regards to gaming, so your best bet is to get probably the best cpu you can now, overclock it to its maximum stable amount, and then blow the rest on a gpu, and then jsut update the gpu every so often.

even now, i probably wouldn't wait for a 45nm quad, as they are hard to get. I'd go for a g0 q6600, as they hit 3.8 on water relatively easily, and will see you good for years to come. Especially seeing as until 32nm comes out, your not going to see these massive improvements in speed, more increments.
