Hey guys I have this deal where i can get a 7950Gt or a X1950pro for around $50. Which should I get? I game in 1280 1024 in CNC3, COD4. I know that the GF7xxx suck in newer games but Just want some opinion.

I believe that 7950GT will outperform 1950 Pro , but I'm not sure about CNC and call of duty in general even 7900GT outperforms 1950pro by few percents on the other hand 1950 pro supports HDR and Antialising together while 7 series doesn't. go for 2*1950 pro

Neither. If you're in need of an AGP card, I would go for the HD 3850 hands down. If you need a cheap PCI-Express card, I would go for an 8600GT for $99. The quality of a cheap $50 GPU these will never justify its cost..

I would agree with AuDioFreaK39 if you you are considering to buy an AGP card..... HD 3850 is a great one ... Just to give you heads up...
HD3850 X1950 Pro 2600 Pro 3DMark06 4131 3428 2852 3DMark05 6399 5923 5832 3DMark03 24683 13224 9372
It is very limited by the CPU (2.8GHz P4 Northwood), but it beats X1950Pro, still doing games so wait for the review.. It will be up sometimes next week ......

Umm bobxex. The 3850 does not get 4000 3dmarks in 3dmark06. And the X1950pro does not get 3000. Lol where did you get those benchies? Guys im looking for a PCIexpress card not AGP. Audiofreak, sorry but a $100 8600GT does not justify its price. The X1950pro will kill it. Plus these cards were from Ebay and are in good condition, (as I see them).
I just wanted to know what you guys thought b/w the X1950pro and 7950GT. Which would perform better in todays games, CNC3, COD4.

If that's the case, then the 7950GT would be the better choice. It has 24 pixel pipelines instead of the 12 found on the X1950 Pro and according to some benchmarks I've seen, it completely dominates in the area of overclocking and frame-per-frame performance.

Yeah I want to do that but then, I've heard that the 7950GT sucks. Especially in newer games. The X1950pro has 36 pixel shaders.

What makes you think that they don't get 4000 and 3000 in 3DMark06??

Yeah I know that... but it's 9000-10000 if you are doing HD 3850 "PCI-Express" 3DMark06 on # Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Processor # Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 Those previous scores that I have posted are the AGP card on Intel single core 2.8GHz socket 478 P4 Northwood so 4131 is a great score.... same goes for x1950pro

generaly 7950GT is faster than 1950pro , (i know about 36 pixel shaders and 24 ) but i know that you're an ATI guy , so go for ATI . i learned over time , whatever you believe in , you'll like more !! that may sound stupid , but it's real moreover there's no much difference between these two specific cards

In order of performance (fastest to slowest):
X1950XT > 7950GT > X1950 Pro
The X1950XT would the best choice for you - but even better, why not take up on an HD 3870 512MB PCI-E? They're relatively cheap if you know where to look.
