ZOTAC GeForce 9800GX2 $549.99 After MIR - Just 5 Days After Launch!

So I heard about the European price cuts of the 9800GX2 the other night, but I didn't expect them to reach America for at least another couple weeks..until I saw this:

That's right, your eyes don't deceive you, $50 dollars less than the $599 price tag on launch day just 5 days ago.  I'm assuming the EVGA 9800GX2 that I bought will go down in price eventually.  I know there are going to be plenty of comments in this thread now saying "Yeah that's what always happens to early adopters.  I'm waiting another 2 months until it's at $499" or "Screw the 9800GX2 the price isn't justified over two 9800GTX's" - and you know what, I'm fine with that.  The way I see it, I'm giving more of my money to Nvidia and I'm more than proud to be doing that.  I've got an internship with them next summer in 2009 and they will offer me their latest cards for heavily discounted prices, so in my opinion I'm not worried about the cash.

that is a nice price but still 3870 X2 is way cheaper and slower

Well on EVGAs production of the card, they just made a few more price cuts to make way for their SC, KO, and SSC Black Pearl editions.  Newegg is reading the original price as $589 rather than $599 with a $30 MIR which brings the total down to $559.

It saddens me to know that I bought my vanilla EVGA 9800GX2 on launch day for $599 and had to watch the price plummet a good $30 bucks in just 5 days.

Well it could have been worse. You could have bought an iPhone for $600 and looked on as it dropped to $400 in two months. 

$30 is no big deal. Can't even get drunk for $30, not even in Bosnia.
