March seventeenth?!  No freaking way - I want proof and source links NOW.

(an ETA from a preorder site doesn't count as proof either, as they are all suggesting different dates)

BLT is perfectly legit.  I'm about to preorder from them - they are another tankguys.com basically.  But what's aggravating me the most is that this CPU was originally scheduled to release in late January right after CES...bummer.

What is the meaning of "shipping" ?
10 CPUs per country or something like 1000?

Eliot.

I didn't understand your question.

I do understand I guess Cheesy he means the quantity of processors "shipped" to a country - if it's just a bunch you can't call it shipping - it's a drop in the ocean.

@geizhals it's listed for ~270 but it's not available ... I think I 'll wait a few days after shipping (if that happens) and check availability - if it's better than expected I think the price will drop a few Euro. Compared to the exchange rates these days it should cost about 230 ... and I don't think the dollar will suddenly be strong again (it hasn't been for 5 or 6 years now)

Edit: some shops @geizhals say the baby can be delivered at 15th ... hope that's true !!

I didn't understand your question.

The question is allocation @ so called "channel".
I remember first batch of 8800GT cards, about 500 for Germany and 0 for Austria...

These Atoms will be a hit in the embedded market running manufacturing equipment, space labs and other uses where more than just a simple logger on controller is needed. If Intel has the Atom releases the Electron, I'm sure AMD will release the Quark or Neutrino!

As for a Tua (Tualitin), they where the best cores Intel had until Yonahs. If current procs as Core 2 then Tua a=was Core 1. Pentium was more like the Itanium, just a side step to play with new tech with us footing the bill. What sets Atom apart from the Tua, is a power consumption of 10-15% of the Tua's running watts. At that lower power, think of it as a mobile device that has a C2D brain.

Super PI on a Atom, someone had to do it!. "Now, when can I overclock one?"
