IE6 is not supported by new Fudzilla site, last time I checked 30% of users were using IE and only 10% of all IE users were using IE6. So just let IE6 die and upgrade to newer IE if you do not like to switch browsers.
Or maybe you are so used to MS way of thinking that linux is too hard for you. Sure linux is not easy but if you dedicate some time, it will work perfectly. Ubuntu is really close to Windows and good thing is once you setup it, it won't break and most of hardware is recognized automatically.
If you buy now 1.5tb drive you will get disk with new firmware, so you shouldn't experience any previously reported issues. My friend is running 6 x1.5 tb disks in raid without any issue.
Probably peering from USA where site is hosted is not so good to your location. If you do not like Firefox I don't see any reason why wouldn't just open fudzilla in Internet Explorer. You could maybe upgrade to version 7 but that is it.
And size of site isn't 500+ kb around 400kb and most of that things should be cached after your second visit so it should load instantly.
