No thanks. I don't want to blow 3250 USD on a motherboard, CPU, and GPU. I could have about five or six excellent complete gaming PCs for the same price.

Those clocks are really high, would be interesting to see the power draw on the consumer card with similar clocks and whether it is even possible to put a dual card out...
Didn't check those websites but most Universities have an arrangement with Microsoft via their computer science departments allowing students free access to WIndows 7, it might be worth checking up on that
Is it a blue screen straight away? I am not familiar with that card but a friend had one (or a similar one) where you couldn't have it at a specific temperature, you had to rush it past it otherwise it would clog the entire system up with interupts but it was only at a specific temp, once past it was fine
Might explain some of the restrictions on the 5870s if they are moving the focus to the 5890. The cooler looks very similar to the one on the 5970 though.
