The situation the R600 is in must be due to the Xenos. Ya think that ATI would have learned after the Nvidia mess. I guess I'll be waiting for the R700...yawn

Thanks guys/gals. I heard allot about Ubuntu, but Puppy Linux..that's great. I've never seen a Linux site with How-to videos before, awesome.The other Linux vendors should take note of this.

I knew someone would point to Ubuntu. I've seen Patrick talk about this in DLTV ( god I miss TechTv ). Looks don't matter to me,It's what's inside that counts . I do believe Pat and Rob had trouble with the Nvidia drivers with Unbuntu, but it was Nv's fault I believe, nothing to do with Unbuntu. I'll give it a try and see if it likes my hamsters

Just curious but, I thought the K10 nomenclator was put aside for the K8L or some such mess? Amd should have stuck with the K9 thing as this probably would have gotten some free press i.e. -AMD's K9 is no dog or, K9 the Pitbull of chips, or AMD may have been sitting with the dogs ,but now their out to chomp the competition.

I've used Suse, RedHat, Xandros and that odd ISO version, but it always comes down to drivers; and it's always the same graphics,raid,nic. I would like to try another flavor of linux...any recomendations? This is my hardware I use so if anyone knows of any incompatibilities, let me know would ya.

What's the major difference between PS and RT? I've heard allot about them both but have never actually used them -always used CB. At any rate I've downloaded them both and will try them on my test computer(a.k.a. wives puter) and see how it goes.
