Confident Q4 launch

AMD’s K10.5, or chips that we know as Deneb and Shanghai in 45nm, are coming in Q4 2008. AMD is very confident that it can deliver them, even though we don’t know the clocks that are achievable this year.

AMD will call this new generation 11h family, just as K10 was called 10h family. We also heard that the company is thinking of adding a suffix in a Phenom brand and logo, simply do differentiate new Phenoms from the old ones.

You can only hope to get 3+ GHz, but this is not something we can confirm at this time. We know that both Shanghai and Deneb in 45nm are up for some heavily competition against Bloomfield / Core i7.
