We learned that AMD has delayed its upcoming 790G chipset, expected to be the fastest IGP chipset around. AMD 780G got AMD to the next level, but AMD 790GX has a new IGP core that matches Radeon 3470 performance and therefore runs much faster than any Nvidia or Intel IGP core.

This board was supposed to come around July 15th, but we’ve learned that it might be delayed for an additional two weeks; but we don’t know the reason why.

AMD 790GX will mix with SB750 Southbridge and it should also be a great overclocker for all current Phenoms on the market.

This will be the final performance hit to Nvidia and Intel’s G45 and AMD has them where it wants it. AMD can at least claim the world dominance in IGP chipset performance market and with the 790GX this success story will just get better.
