Cloud rains supreme

Google has made its Gears code work on the forthcoming Firefox 3 product.

Gears is Google's software to advance Web programming and can help develop cloud computing applications, such as Google Docs and Gmail. The search engine wants Gears to merge into HTML and so far it has made it into the HTML 5 specification under development.

Gears supports Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer. Google is working hard on a version for Apple's Safari browser, and Opera is extending support to its own desktop and mobile browsers.
